Cheryl Robson (Daines)
Miss Rodeo Canada 1988

At the age of 21 Cheryl Robson is no stranger to Queen Pageants. It all started in Rimbey when she was crowned their Rodeo Queen. Then in 1985 Cheryl had the honour of being named Miss Ponoka Stampede Queen. Two years laster she was named Miss Red Deer and competed in the Miss Canada Pageant in Toronto. Red Deer Silver Buckle Rodeo sponsored Cheryl to compete for the coveted title of Miss Rodeo Canada and the rest is history.

This past year Cheryl has attended 45 rodeo and logged approximately 45,000 km on her Dodge Ram Charger. The highlight of her year was to visit Australia where she took in Expo '88 along with the National Finals in Australia.

Cheryl plans on finishing her Masters degree in Education Psychology.

Cheryl is married to former "Canadian All Around Champion": Duane Daines. They have a daughter Sidney Sheridan who is ten. The whole family is still active in rodeo. Cheryl and Sidney are both avid barrel racers and travel all over Western Canada to the larger Pro Rodeo's. When Cheryl is not on the road with rodeo she is teaching grade 4 students. During her year as Miss Rodeo Canada in 1988, Calgary played host to the Olympics. The special memories that were fostered during that year will never be forgotten.
