Trish Seitz

Trish Kostelansky (Seitz)
Miss Rodeo Canada 1991

Trish Kostelansky, age 22, was crowned Miss Rodeo Canada 1991 at the 17th Annual Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton, Alberta, November 1990.

Although Trish now resides in Calgary, she still calls Lethbridge, Alberta, her home and represented that city's rodeo in the Miss Rodeo Canada pageant. Raised by an active rodeo family, the sport of rodeo has always been a big part of her life. Therefore, representing the C.P.R.A. throughout Canada and the United States at rodeos and various other promotions comes quite naturally to her.

With a strong interest in sports, Trish participated in varsity volleyball and basketball throughout high school, but was most at home in the rodeo arena. She has been participating in rodeos since the age of ten and was an avid competitor in high school rodeo. As a member of the Alberta team, Trish qualified for several national high school rodeo finals. In 1985 she won the Alberta High School rodeo all-around cowgirl award and went on to Rapid City, South Dakota, where she was the first, and so far the only Canadian girl to win the national High School Rodeo Queen title. Trish won the public speaking category at the Miss Rodeo Canada pageant, which she attributes to the experience gained through many years she spent as a 4-H beef club member.

Trish recently graduated from a five-year term at the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a Minor in Management. Upon the completion of her reign, Trish will be pursuing a career in the field of Public Relations.

For Trish, the opportunity to combine her love of the sport of rodeo and her chosen profession in public relations is fulfilled by representing the C.P.R.A. She feels it is truly a tremendous honour to promote professional rodeo in Canada.
