Jenna Berreth Verhun
Miss Rodeo Canada 2008

It has been a privilege and an honour to represent the sport of rodeo, the CPRA and to proudly wear the crown of Miss Rodeo Canada. When I started my journey to the CFR, it was an uphill climb with obstacles, hard work and sacrifices required, but at the end of this journey there was a goal. Goals can make the difference in someone’s life between achieving the things you desire most and coming up short. By placing the goal of Miss Rodeo Canada in my life and going through the steps to make it possible, my dreams became a reality. Achieving the crown and being successful in each of the categories of the pageant is something that will stay with me forever.

In myself I found strength, patience and new depths to my character. I learnt that in stepping up to challenges, persevering through adversity and moving forward with faith, the journey becomes worth it when the goal is achieved and living it is half the lesson. Because of this journey, I became a better person, and developed life long traits that will benefit me in the future.

In closing, I would like to thank the Miss Rodeo Canada Board for their openness to change and creating the possibility for young women to pursue the opportunity of a lifetime. Everyone who took part in my year had a hand in making it what it was, and I wouldn’t have enjoyed it half as much without each of you. I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the rodeo committees who so generously hosted me throughout the year. Thank you to the announcers, judges, timers, stock contractors and cowboys for always being there to lend me a helping hand, which was greatly appreciated.

Without our numerous sponsors, Miss Rodeo Canada would not be able to run as efficiently as it does. To each and everyone one of you, thank you for all that you do. And last, but first in my heart, thank you to my Mom, Dad, Chris, Jeff, and Pam for your love and support throughout my reign, it has been a pleasure to have shared it with you and I will be forever grateful to each of you for all that have done, and continue to do.
